Prof.Zhixiang Zhang became the Academic Committee member of the International Monetary Institute(IMI), RUC since 2009. Concurrently Prof. Zhang became an Independent Director of the Board of Directorsof the JP Morgan Chase Bank (China) since 2017. Prof. Zhang was a Senior Advisor on international affairs and Director of international exchange program of the School of Finance, the Renmin University from 2002 to 2009.

Prof.Zhixiang Zhang worked at the International Monetary Fund(IMF) as an Executive Director from 1996 to 1999 and at the Asian Development Bank as a Director General from 1999 to 2002. He was a deputy Director General and Director General of the International Departmentof the People’s Bank of China which is China’s central bank from 1985 to 1996. At the present, Mr. Zhang focuses his attention on issues of international monetary system, financial risks and internationalization of Chinese currency, Renminbi.

In recent years, financial technology(FinTech) is developing rapidly globally. China has undoubtedly grown into a global center in the burgeoning FinTech industry. As FinTech is transforming the traditional financial industry influentially, every leading finance education institution must catch up with this trend of advanced FinTech education. The Master of Science in FinTech (MSFT) Program established by the School of Finance, Renmin University of China(SFRUC) is a response to this great FinTech era’s call. It was designed to cultivate global FinTech talents and business leaders equipped with both financial expertise, technology skills and innovative spirits, especially with a focus on China. In order to enrich the program teaching and broaden students’ international horizon, SFRUC invites top FinTech experts and scholars to share their insights through the FinTech Webinar Series(online) for both domestic and international students in order to build a lifelong learning and networking platform for them.
