East China Normal University MBA Program Admission Guide for International Students

1.Program Introduction

The MBA program of East China Normal University is approved by the Ministry of Education and the Degree Office of the State Council [code: 2007(36)], providing academic and degree education. Since its inception in 2007, the program has developed by leaps and bounds in just over ten years and has enrolled more than 8,000 students so far. The program is rooted in the profound humanistic heritage of East China Normal University, and gathers a wealth of management, financial, statistical, psychological and humanistic education resources. It is based on the concept of “broadening vision, acquiring knowledge and remaining faithful”, and supported by the campus culture of “Basking in the Great Love of ECNU”. Based on its dominant academic disciplines, the program is aimed at cultivating all-round management elites with a broad vision, plentiful knowledge and faithfulness.

In 2010, East China Normal University MBA program was selected as one of the 18 national MBA pilot institutions for comprehensive reform approved by the Ministry of Education, and in 2013, it passed the quality check of the Ministry of Education and the Degree Office of the State Council with excellent results. In September 2015, the “Faculty of Economics and Management” of East China Normal University was established. The faculty was integrated and established on the foundation of multiple institutions including business school, public administration school, finance and statistics school, international shipping logistics research institute, MBA education center, etc. This move aims to improve the school management structure, decentralize the decision making power of the upper management, facilitate the interdisciplinary integration, promote the reform of the talent training model, and strive to better build Shanghai into “four centers” (international economic, financial, trade and shipping center) and a globally influential science and innovation center. On June 1, 2017, the China High-Quality MBA Education Certification Executive Committee conference was held in Nankai University. The Faculty of Economics and Management of East China Normal University was formally reviewed at the meeting and it was announced that the faculty had passed the China High-Quality MBA Education Certification (“CAMEA Certification”), and ECNU MBA Program has thus become the 15th (tied) MBA training institution to obtain “CAMEA Certification”.

General Management MBA Program (Full-time)

The program aims to cultivate professional managers with abundant management experience and knowledge (management practice and comprehensive application, human resource management practice and comprehensive application, finance and accounting analysis, marketing and brand management, international corporate management elites, economic decision science and leadership development, and humanistic literacy and management wisdom) .

268,000 yuan in total (full-time program payment settled in two years, 134,000 yuan per year)

6.Application Requirements

(1) Non-Chinese citizens with valid foreign passports.

(2) Possess an academic qualification equivalent to a Chinese bachelor’s degree or above.

(3) The MBA program of Professional Degree Education Center at ECNU is taught in Chinese. Applicants must pass the new HSK (level-5) (210 points or more) or HSK (level-6) (180 points or more).

7.Degree Awarding

MBA students must complete the required credits in accordance with the training plan within the specified number of years (5 years), complete the master’s thesis and pass the thesis defense. Upon approval, they can be awarded the East China Normal University master’s degree certificate and the Master of Business Administration (MBA) program diploma issued by the Ministry of Education.
